Covid Crew Gives Henley a Shot

Covid hit BUBC hard. The university sent the students home in March 2020 disrupting training and the fresher intake. We started 2021 but then went immediately into lock down and lost our second year of novices. By May 2021 our 90 member club was down to 12 members. Final year students Rohan Henry, Oliver Tibble, Anoushka Chuahan, second year Stuart Burch and first year James Colmar got together and decided to try and qualify for the Prince Albert at Henley Royal Regatta. With help from Ian Dryden, the director of rowing at Canford and GB coach Rob Morgan, the novices took a minute off their 2k time in three months but just ran out of road. Stuart and James will be back next year to inspire the new intake.
